Flyers Girls' Soccer Big Win Over W-H-A

The Flyers Girls Soccer team defeated visiting Walker-Hackensack-Akeley 7-1.

The Flyers opened the scoring with a goal by Marre Welinski after Kaylee Selinski played the ball right in front of the net 3 minutes into the game. Taylor Swantek then scored off a pass from Ella Bjorge 11 minutes in and ten minutes later Marre Welinski got her second goal, this one assisted by Ella Bjorge. Kaylee Zupko scored a few minutes later when she followed her own shot and knocked it passed the WHA keeper. WHA then followed with a long shot and goal at the 26 minute mark. The halftime score was 4-1.

In the second half, Little Falls pulled away with another goal by Taylor Swantek, followed by goals from Sierra Kicker and Mikayla Houdek. Today's goals by Houdek, Kicker, and Zupko were career firsts. Ana Steadman got the win in goal for the Flyers, recording two saves.
 
The Flyers record goes to 2-1, conference record remains 1-0. Next week the girls have two conference games - a home game on Tuesday at 5pm vs. Zimmerman and an away game Thursday at 5pm at St. John's Prep.
